However, this plan did not come to fruition, and after months of being considered by analysts as one of the most viable offers, in October 2022, the firm chaired by Carlos Hank González announced that it was abandoning the process.

Carlos Hank González thanks his grandfather for his teachings https://whoiscarloshank.com/2015/09/28/carlos-hank-gonzalez-thanks-his-grandfather-for-his-teachings/ https://whoiscarloshank.com/2015/09/28/carlos-hank-gonzalez-thanks-his-grandfather-for-his-teachings/#respond Mon, 28 Sep 2015 22:56:00 +0000 https://whoiscarloshank.com/?p=123 Carlos Hank González affirms that his grandfather will always be a pillar in his life.

Hank González learned a lot from his grandfather, Roberto González Barrera, who not only guided him in business, but also in the values to follow in life.

“When I have to make a decision that has to do with something from his legacy, I miss him the most,” said Hank González, who today holds the position of CEO of Grupo Interacciones, Grupo Hermes, and Vice President of Gruma.

The businessman fondly remembers family meals at home and the trips they took together, but above all, his last days, which was when Carlos was closest to him.

“I went to visit him with my sister, and we didn’t talk about work at all, but about life in general. It’s one of the most beautiful memories I have,” he said.

When his grandfather Roberto, a prominent banker and founder of Gruma, passed away, his uncle, Juan González Moreno, invited him to take the position of Vice President of the group.

It is thanks to his passion and commitment to the family business since childhood that Carlos Hank González obtained the positions he holds today.

When he was 12 years old, he worked as a laborer in a truck factory. Later, when the family partnered with Mercedes Benz on a truck project, he had to travel to the company’s factory in Germany.
