Banorte Will Be the Driving Force Behind the Infrastructure: Carlos Hank González

Amid global challenges and internal structural adjustments, Grupo Financiero Banorte is ready to finance major national projects.

Carlos Hank González, chairman of the Board of Directors, stated that the institution not only remains optimistic about the 1.8% economic growth projected for 2026 but is also positioning itself as a strategic partner in the Plan México initiative promoted by the federal government.

For the executive, the current landscape—marked by the renegotiation of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and the implementation of far-reaching reforms—represents an opportunity for investment, especially in critical sectors where the bank has a long-standing leadership role.

“Banorte is the leading bank in infrastructure. We see great opportunities to participate in Plan México, in energy, gas, oil, and water projects. We are committed to being a driver of development,” he said in an interview.

In response to concerns raised by international organizations and various rating agencies regarding the impact of judicial reform on foreign investment, the banker was emphatic: investors find certainty in the projects.

“Investors clearly understand the rules for investing. Highway projects were announced last week, and energy projects will follow soon. There is enthusiasm.”

According to the executive, Banorte serves as the “gateway” for channeling both domestic capital.
