Following Banorte’s call for Banamex to return to national hands and thereby create a “Mexican banking champion,” Carlos Hank González, chairman of the financial group’s board of directors, moves from words to action by discussing how state and municipal governments are seeking to create investment and growth opportunities in their localities, hand in hand with the bank, which designs customized financial strategies to help them spark their development.

“Banorte’s challenge is to become number one and to contribute to the development of our clients and our country,” said Hank González in an interview with MILENIO prior to the 85th Banking Convention, which begins today in Acapulco.

Faced with what he considers one of the biggest challenges in banking, the president of the country’s second-largest financial group highlighted that they invest more than 13 billion pesos annually in digitizing their processes for their more than 11 million customers.
