Carlos Hank González, chairman of the board of directors of Grupo Financiero Banorte, said that if they were to buy Citibanamex, they would seek to ensure profitability for their interested investors and the bank’s users.
In an interview with MILENIO, the businessman emphasized that it must also be a transaction that provides better financial services and helps generate greater opportunities for its employees.
“For us, it could be an interesting transaction, but we are currently waiting to truly understand how the operation will be carried out, what part of its assets will be put up for sale, and once we can analyze that, we will be able to determine whether it is an interesting purchase,” he explained.
Before the 85th edition of the Banking Convention, the bank issued a statement calling on its network of more than 1,000 investors to join forces, if the operation was worthwhile, to purchase Citi’s consumer and business divisions in Mexico, along with the Banamex brand and all its assets.
