The Banorte Financial Group confirmed on Thursday the resignation of its president, Guillermo Ortiz, and its CEO, Alejandro Valenzuela. Effective January 1, Carlos Hank González will assume the presidency of the entity, as approved by Banorte’s board of directors at an extraordinary meeting.
Valenzuela will be replaced by José Marcos Ramírez Miguel, who until now served as the group’s chief executive officer of Wholesale Banking.
“The changes decided upon by the Board of Directors today will contribute to strengthening the corporate governance of Grupo Financiero Banorte, marking the beginning of a new era of collaboration between all of the institution’s governing bodies and management,” Hank González emphasized.
Last October, Hank González resigned as CEO of Grupo Financiero Interacciones with the intention of accepting the nomination made at that time by a group of Grupo Financiero Banorte shareholders to join its board of directors.
